The Mechanics of Recoil Compensation

Overview

Recoil control is the ability of the brain to perform a 'predictive counter-movement.' This article analyzes the two types of recoil control: 'Reactive' (seeing the crosshair move and pulling back) and 'Learned' (muscle memory of the pattern). Reactive control is limited by human reaction time (~150ms), while Learned control happens at the level of the spinal cord with zero latency. We provide a training curriculum to move your spray control from the brain's 'Slow-Path' to the 'Fast-Path.'
