Some practitioners even developed personal persistent AI context systems, such as markdown files or custom GPTs, to improve their iterative use of AI. However, these individual efficiencies did not translate into systemic changes within the studios. Prompts and techniques were often saved as personal resources, disconnected from any formal organizational upskilling efforts, leaving studio operations largely unchanged.

The Leap to Workflow Automation To truly harness AI's potential, studios recognized the need to automate entire workflows, not just individual tasks. This led to a second wave of challenges, rooted not in technological limitations, but in the complexities of organizational coordination. Piloting AI for workflow automation exposed the difficulties in codifying **tacit knowledge** – the unwritten rules, institutional memory, and informal processes that govern how work truly gets done.
